Anna Cho Cello


Dr. Cho is a much sought after soloist, chamber musician, orchestra player, and avid teacher.


A winner of competitions, scholarships and awards, Ms. Cho brings to her playing with the subtle nuances, color and sensitivity associated with her native Korea.


Among her notable performances include concerts on three continents – cello solos with many major Orchestras in Korea and Russia. Major concerto appearances in Moscow were with Moscow Symphony and Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra.


She was a member of the world-renowned Midori’s string quartet and a soloist at the famous Yale Cellos concert, and the principal cellist of the Moritzburg Festival Orchestra in Germany.


Dr. Cho has studied in Russia, Korea and the United States under many masters of the cello including the legendary Eleonore Schoenfeld, Nathaniel Rosen, Aldo Parisot, Peter Stumpf, and Myung-Wha Chung.


She holds a Bachelor of Music from Korean National University of Arts, a Master of Music from Yale University, and Doctor of Musical Arts from University of Southern California. Dr. Cho is fluent in English, Russian and Korean and has lived on three continents.
Dr. Anna Cho is currently a teacher at the Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education and substitute cellist in San Diego Symphony Orchestra in San Diego, California.
