COVID-19 Policies

Help Us Stay Safe

While we navigate the changing climate of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will update this webpage in accordance with local and federal guidelines.

Please be sure to refer to this page for all updates on our safety protocols, and feel free to contact our Admin team at admin@villamusica.org if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Face Masks are Optional*

Face masks are optional in our common places and most private lessons, group classes, and ensemble rehearsals. If your instructor requests you to wear a mask in their studio space, you are required to wear a mask.

Face masks should be well-fitting and cover the nose and mouth at all times.

Should you need a mask, please request one at the front desk.

Be sure to contact your instructor if you have questions regarding their studio mask requirement.

What To Do If…

If You’re Feeling Sick:
Inform your teacher, so we may arrange a Zoom link so you can take your lesson safely from home. Alternatively, with adequate notice (>24 hours notice) we can schedule a make-up lesson as per our Registration Policies.

If you’ve been directly exposed to a person who is COVID positive:
Inform your teacher, so we may arrange a Zoom link so you can take your lesson safely from home. Alternatively, with adequate notice (>24 hours notice) we can schedule a make-up lesson as per our Registration Policies.
We ask that you adhere to CDC testing and quarantine guidelines and update your instructor of your COVID status should your exposure result in you catching the virus.

If You’ve Tested Positive for COVID:
Inform your teacher, so we may arrange a Zoom link so you can take your lesson safely from home. Alternatively, with adequate notice (>24 hours notice) we can schedule a make-up lesson as per our Registration Policies. We ask that you adhere to CDC testing and quarantine guidelines and update your instructor on your COVID status. We request a confirmation of a negative antigen test (at-home) or the submission of a ‘Return to Work/School Form’ before returning to in-person programming at Villa Musica.

If You Have Been Traveling:
Villa Musica requests that you do not attend an in-person lesson until you receive a negative test 5 days after returning from any kind of travel that includes sharing a space for more than 15 minutes with people you do not know. This includes travel by plane, bus, train. Family car travel is not included when the COVID status of all passengers is known.

Lessons are expected to continue as scheduled via Zoom during this period and billing will not be adjusted.

COVID Safe Learning Opportunities

Classroom Safety Measures

  • All private lessons, group classes, and ensemble rehearsals are subject to mask requirements only at the teacher’s discretion
  • Forgot your mask? No worries! Villa Musica has masks for those who forget to bring one (unlimited supply!)
  • All Villa Musica staff and faculty have been fully vaccinated. For those who have provided official paperwork for a medical exemption, weekly testing is required
  • Our group classes and ensembles have limited capacity to allow for social distancing

Private Lessons on Zoom

  • Private Lessons via Zoom is a great, safe way to continue learning music if you have COVID concerns
  • All of our piano, vocal, violin, guitar, etc. instructors are prepared to teach students via Zoom
  • We will provide you with a private Zoom link to connect you with your instructor
  • Zoom is a great way to take lessons if facial expression, embouchure, and vowel shape is better learned without a mask!
