An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until August 11, 2021
Villa Musica’s Summer String ensemble will meeting for a six week session for both beginning and advanced string players. Come play in an ensemble with other kids and learn new music in a fun and supportive environment! In this program, students will refine listening skills and subtleties of ensemble artistry while working on challenging and diverse repertoire. This ensemble will offer a supportive social environment of peers who are dedicated to advancing their own technique and musicianship. Students will work toward a concert for family and friends at the end of the session. Violins, violas, cellos and basses welcome!
A simple audition will be held virtually by appointment for students new to VM string ensembles. This audition is not a bar to entry, but rather a chance for us to get to know your student and determine the overall level of the ensemble for repertoire choice purposes.
We know families are anxious to travel this Summer. Students may still participate in the recital as long as you miss no more that 1 rehearsal.
Rehearsals will be outside under our tent. We will require students wear a mask for the entire duration of the class. Additionally, seating will be kept 6 feet apart with one stand per student. If you have your own music stand, it is highly encouraged that you bring it. Villa Musica will be able to provide chairs and wind clips for each rehearsal and the performance.
