Description
Classical Group Guitar
Students will work towards proficiency on the guitar while obtaining an understanding of the fundamentals of classical technique and musicianship. They will learn to read sheet music, tablature, and finger-picking. Interactive classes give students the opportunity for individual attention, while providing an environment for collaboration with other musicians their own age in a comfortable and supportive atmosphere. By the end of the class, they will be able to sight-read simple melodies, perform solos and duets, read basic rhythms, and strum patterns. This programs empowers students to seek out music to learn and perform on their own, even after graduating from this class.
Students must have their own footstool and acoustic, nylon-string guitar before the first class. Villa Musica can provide guitar packages (instrument, case, footstool, tuner) for $150-$170, depending on size. If you are interested in purchasing a Villa Musica guitar and/or footstool ($10), please let us know in your registration form.
