Partnering with the La Jolla Symphony Orchestra, Villa Musica is excited to be the first organization to bring Link Up, a Carnegie Hall initiative, to San Diego, now in our 3rd season!
Villa Musica’s Teaching Artists teach weekly classes inside 3rd and 4th grade classrooms, bringing Carnegie Hall’s Link Up curriculum to life. Students are given a recorder and learn to sing and play an instrument in their own classroom. The program culminates with a final performance, featuring students from over 10 different elementary schools (who will perform accompanied by the La Jolla Symphony), at First United Methodist Church of San Diego, on Saturday April 26th, at 2pm.
We are piloting this program at Innovations Academy for 10 weeks to start, but hope to have students continue for the whole school year and participate in the final concert.
