Claudia first began their relationship with music at age six when they began taking private cello lessons. Throughout their childhood they learned the value of community music making through a variety of classical settings for youth. After receiving their Bachelors in Education from Evergreen State College, Claudia worked professionally as a public school teacher while continuing to study and perform cello individually. In 2022, they took their teaching experience and began to offer private cello lessons while studying with Eric Moore. Since then they have devoted their life to pursuing music as their career. They have maintained an active studio and have nurtured musical excellence for hundreds of students. Claudia’s experience as a grade school teacher and understanding of childhood development has laid a foundation of excellency when teaching music to all ages. Their teaching pedagogy revolves around the fundamental value that each person is capable of musical success and enjoyment when supported properly. Their unique path with music as a profession underpins their belief that no journey with music has to look the same.
Today, Claudia actively performs with several ensembles in San Diego and also enjoys performing with singer songwriters and bands of various genres. Claudia is currently pursuing a cello performance degree from Palomar College, and plays with the La Jolla Symphony.
