Description
Josh Arky is a performer and a teacher of singing. Over the last decade, he has taught students of all ages (OK, not all ages, but pretty close!) and experience levels (from absolute beginners to accomplished, regularly performing professionals) and across a wide range of musical interests and styles (among them pop, opera, musical theater, rock, and folk). Josh has 15 years of experience on the operatic stage, performing as a soloist with San Diego Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Virginia Opera, Central City Opera, and Opera San José, among others. Josh also regularly gives recitals and concertizes in San Diego, with collaborators such as La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, Opera Wednesday, and Opera à la Carte. He is a three-time Regional Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, where he also won the Rohatyn Great Promise Award. Josh holds a M.M. from Manhattan School of Music, where he received the President’s Award and the Alexandra Hunt Endowed Vocal Scholarship. And he holds a B.A. in Sustainable Development from Columbia University and a M.Sc. in Integrated Natural Resource Management from the Humboldt University of Berlin.
