Summer Camps - 2023

Camps at Villa Musica give young musicians an intimate, nurturing, and exploratory environment to either discover their musical self or hone skills already developing. For 2023, and in collaboration with La Jolla Country Day School, our camps will be able accept a maximum of 15 participants, providing the perfect environment for the developing musician.

Each camp runs from 9am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Early drop off (8:30am) and late pick up (up to 5:00pm) can be accommodated for a fee of $10 per hour. Details of each camp can be found in the links below.

All camps for the summer of 2023 will be hosted on campus at:

La Jolla Country Day School.
9490 Genesee Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037 (drop off/pick up instructions will be sent in the welcome email)
LJCDS will also provide lunch for each camper, but please send water bottles and snacks in a labeled bag/backpack!

Meet Your Summer Camp Coordinator – Ms. Nicole

Teaching is Nicole’s favorite part of the week. She has a personal connection to the El Sistema style of education, growing up in a community model of that ideology as a young musician. Striving to strengthen musical, creative, and community development with all of her students, Nicole makes sure that every student’s goals and preferences are met with understanding. As a recipient of the Alice Saunders Teaching Award, Nicole has studied violin pedagogy with Sherry Kloss at the Jascha Heifetz Symposium, and furthered her violin performance studies with Dr. Pei Chun Tsai at San Diego State University. She has also been the student grant writer for the Campanile Music Festival with Dr. Tsai since 2019.

Nicole is happily at home in a symphony orchestra, and has been given multiple performance opportunities as both a soloist and concertmaster. She enjoys performing in the local classical music scene and can be found near most concerts on either side of the stage; as a performer, administrator, or patron.

Important Forms

Please fill out these forms before your camper’s first day with us. We want to know of any allergies they have, their emergency contact, and also if we can snap some goofy photos of them having fun at camp!
