Villa Musica's Chamber Players (VMCP)

Villa Musica is thrilled to announce the formation of our newest ensemble – the Villa Musica Chamber Players.

This group of vaccinated musicians will come together each quarter, based on instrumentation and repertoire, AND help us get back to the most marvelous part of making music: sharing it with our community.

VMCP will be unique not only in its talent and passion for performance, but also in its flexibility. Whatever the tides bring, we will be playing for our neighbors, friends, and communities; in our parking lot, on the sylvan stages of local parks, and even in a few unexpected places.

To celebrate this inaugural forming of Villa Musica’s first official Chamber Ensemble, this year’s repertoire is a veritable smorgasbord of musical genres. From well-known classical repertoire to 21st-century crossover arrangements, to world premieres, our 2021-2022 concert season will certainly be one to remember.

If you are interested in playing in one or all of the concerts below, please reach out to VMCP’s Director and Conductor James Beauton (vmcp@villamusica.org) to arrange an audition. You will not need to audition if you have previously been a member of the Villa Musica Summer Orchestra. Either way, please take a look at the proposed program for each quarter and scroll down to register your interest in participating by filling out the form below.

We look forward to making music with you!

James Beauton - VMCP Director/Conductor

As a conductor, James Beauton approaches the podium with passion, creativity, and a determination to help musicians reach a heightened artistry in their playing. With knowledge of all parts of the orchestra, unguarded enthusiasm for music, and a dash of jovial irreverence, Beauton invites musicians and audiences alike to experience orchestral music in a new way.

He currently directs the Buddy Rogers Youth Symphony and is the Assistant Conductor of the Coachella Valley Symphony. This year, James leads the Villa Musica Chamber Players throughout their inaugural season. Beauton has completed a DMA in Contemporary Music Performance at UC San Diego. He has also earned degrees from SUNY Stony Brook (Master of Music) and Michigan State University (Bachelor of Music).
