Description

A local musician, teacher, and longtime lover of music, Zoey Jones has committed herself to the study of piano. She began her musical journey at age 7 with piano lessons and continues to play professionally today. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education at San Diego State University with Magna Cum Laude status in 2020.

Zoey Jones has experience playing in a wide variety of bands, such as jazz, pop, rock, choral, classical, and Latin groups. Her dance bands have performed all over California and even at some international events. She is currently training to be a player in San Diego’s downtown dueling piano bar, The Shout! House. She has been the piano accompanist for SDSU’s three choirs and graduate conducting students, Monroe Clark Middle School’s music programs, and for the Summit UU Fellowship church choir. Her rich experience in different genres reflect in her teaching by expanding the student’s playing ability in multiple styles.

Zoey’s teaching experience began in 2016 with a few private students, but then took off to working with group classes, piano institutions, collegiate level music tutoring, and choir directing. Zoey’s positive teaching style and passion for music is obvious from the moment you meet her!
