How does music influence your life: At the time I first joined and had just graduated from UCSD, I was missing singing part of a choir, so Villa Musica helped me find community in the choir. I don’t sing much now except to my kids and my clients, but I still remember enjoying my time with Villa Musica. Also, Fiona was so affirming and validating and an amazing voice teacher that helped me find my voice again after grad school.
Fiona’s Memories of Derlin:Â Derlin was a wonderful student and to this day is the highest level RCM exam student I’ve ever coached. She won a Gold Medal for the State of California at Level 6. Derlin’s dedication to singing, and finding her voice in community held her in good stead for the busy life of a music therapist (they sing A LOT).
