Not many seven-year-olds can say they’ve seen their name credited on a sheet of original music. However, Nishant Mantravadi, Villa Musica’s October Student of the Month, has not only excelled in his piano studies, but has also ventured into music composition under the instruction of Kyle Adam Blair.

“He maintains an amazing positive attitude always, which leads to amazing progress and amazing performances,” Mr. Blair said. Nishant has been working with Mr. Blair since October 2021, which allows for his recognition as Student of the Month to be an even more significant milestone considering the anniversary of his efforts at Villa Musica.

Nishant said that his favorite music to play is jazz music, while for composition, he enjoys “spooky rock.” “He is incredibly absorbent in lessons, taking every single note and putting it into practice immediately,” Mr. Blair added.

Outside of his piano lessons, Nishant enjoys soccer and crafts, as well as riding his bike. He is in second grade at the Design39 Campus, where his favorite subject is science.

You can see Nishant perform along with other Villa Musica students, faculty, and ensembles at our upcoming Annual Showcase Concert on November 13th, 2022 at 2:30pm at All Souls’ Episcopal Church. Find more info and reserve your free tickets here by clicking here.
