Orchestra Néos
Villa Musica’s Orchestra Neos is for beginning-intermediate string players with a year or two of experience on their instrument. Come play in an ensemble with other kids and learn new music in a fun and supportive environment! In this program, students will build on fundamentals of music reading and develop new skills while learning what playing in an ensemble is all about. Students will work toward a concert for family and friends at the end of each quarter. Violins, violas, cellos, and basses welcome!
Requirements: Students seeking to join this class will be screened for readiness
Suzuki Bk I – complete (or equivalent)
Essential Elements Book 2 technique #67-91
Confidence with reading notation in the keys of D maj, A maj, G maj, and C maj.
Good understanding and recognition of accidentals
Good problem solving skills
Able to practice and learn repertoire at home
When: Saturdays 4:00-5:00 PM
First Class: December 7th, 2024 (Winter Quarter)
Who: Students with 1 – 2 years of strings experience
Number of participants: 12 maximum
Course Fee: $225 (10 weeks)
