Orchestra Néos II: Turbo

Villa Musica’s Orchestra Neos II: Turbo is for string players with several years of experience on their instrument. Students in this group must have adequate music-reading skills and a solid technical foundation on their instrument (midway through Suzuki Book 2/Essential Elements 2, or the equivalent).

In this program, students will continue to gain experience playing with a group. They will refine their listening skills and learn more about the subtleties of ensemble artistry while working on more challenging and diverse repertoire. This ensemble will offer a supportive social environment of peers who are dedicated to advancing their own technique and musicianship. Students will work toward a concert for family and friends at the end of each quarter!

Requirements: Students seeking to join this class will be screened for readiness
Students should be more than halfway through Suzuki Bk II (or equivalent)
Able to play in all keys with 3 sharps or 2 flats
Confident with more complex rhythms including those with ties and rests
Should be able to learn their part at home (with support from a parent/private teacher)
Music is prepared each week in advance of each class meeting

When: Wednesdays, 6 – 7pm
First Class: January 21st, 2026
Who: Students with 1 – 2 years of strings experience
Number of participants: 12 maximum
Course Fee: $375 (15 weeks)
