Description
This class is a continuation of our introductory course in Fall 2025. New students are expected to be thoroughly familiar with Book 1 of Alfred’s “Essentials of Music Theory”.*
The Musicianship component applies music elements through keyboard exercises, singing, dictation, and notation. These processes and drills are unique to our class, and are expected to be acquired within the first couple classes.
This offering is comprehensive, the goal being to acquire a thorough and embedded understanding of the components of music.
We work in a seminar format, open for questions and discussion. Creative work, movement, improvisation, and other musical digressions may be included to make things energized, fun, and even more insightful.
The overall pace and direction of our class will be determined by the group flow, priorities, and teacher’s discretion.
