Recently, two of our very own students won first and second place at the Pacific Star Piano Competition. Both Fuga and Sameer work with piano faculty April Lin here at Villa Musica.

April shared some glowing words for us: “Fuga won first place in the IPPA San Diego Region and has been invited to compete in the IPPA Final Round 2026 in Kansas. He also earned second place in the Pacific Star Competition San Diego Region. He performed the third movement of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2, delivering a stunning performance that impressed all the judges with his exceptional technique and musicality.” We can’t wait to share his performance at the next round of the competition!

Sameer had been working on his piece for quite some time, and the sound of it ringing through the halls here at our Sorrento Valley campus on Friday evenings has been blowing us all away. His teacher shared: “Sameer Prakash won first place in the Pacific Star Competition San Diego Region and was invited to perform at the Highest Score Winner Recital. He performed Ravel’s Une barque sur l’océan, captivating the audience with a deeply expressive and masterful interpretation.”

Congratulations to both Sameer and Fuga for their wins at the Pacific Star Piano Competition! We at Villa Musica are all so proud of them, and excited to see them blossoming into such impressive musicians!
