Introducing the Villa Musica Chamber Players…
Among many exciting happenings this 2021-2022 season, Villa Musica is excited to announce its newest performance ensemble, the Villa Musica Chamber Players. This small orchestra, led by Dr. James Beauton, will present four concert programs this year that are free and open to the public. Our inaugural concert will take place on November 7th at 5pm, at the Villa Musica canopy tent located in our back parking lot.
Young Person’s Concerts
30 minutes prior to each of the Villa Musica Chamber Players concerts, Dr. Beauton will lead a guided listening presentation aimed at introducing younger generations of musicians to the music of the orchestra. Modeled after Leonard Bernstein’s famous Young People’s Concerts with the New York Philharmonic, our take on these presentations will take a 21st century approach to sharing the joys of orchestral music with our community. All are welcome to attend these pre-concert programs. The first Young Person’s Concerts will occur November 7th at 4:30pm.
Fall Romance: Classical Music of the Romantic Period
Young Person’s Concert: 4:30pm
Performance: 5pm
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor: Four Novelletten for String Orchestra
Edward Elgar: Salut d’Amour
Beethoven: Symphony No. 1
Prior to the performance, Dr. All are welcome to attend this pre-concert program.
Our first production, simply titled “The Orchestra,” will introduce the instruments of the orchestra and explore its numerous sonic possibilities.
This concert will occur outside at the Villa Musica canopy tent, located in our back parking lot. Be sure to bring your own seating (foldable chairs, picnic blankets, etc.) and wear appropriate clothing for the November weather!
