Description
Stephanie Weaver Yankee is a Canadian-born pianist whose early musical training was shaped by the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, studying under Maida Campbell and Rivoli Iesularo. She holds a Bachelor and Master of Music in Piano Performance and Literature from the University of Western Ontario, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University.
Dr. Weaver has enjoyed a vibrant career both on stage and in arts leadership. She has performed extensively across Canada and the United States as a soloist and collaborative pianist. Equally committed to arts administration and community engagement, she served as Executive Director of the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts before leading the Cape Conservatory from 2011 to 2019, following its merger with the Cape Symphony in 2010.
She now serves as Executive Director of the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, having recently relocated to San Diego, California. Throughout her career, Dr. Weaver has championed accessibility in the arts, striving to make music a source of inspiration not only in the concert hall but also throughout the community.
