An event every week that begins at 7:30 pm on Thursday, repeating until March 19, 2020
Music theory is the mechanics of music — how music works and how it is structured. Whether you play an instrument, sing, compose or simply enjoy listening – music theory is a most valuable tool. This class introduces beginners to the fundamentals of music theory. Using a series of straightforward exercises, participants will gain the skills and knowledge to understand and apply the essential elements of music – rhythm, melody, and harmony. This includes writing and reading notes, rhythms, major and minor scales, intervals, triads and seventh chords. Participants will also develop listening skills/ear-training, keyboard skills, and sight-reading. Note: No prior background or knowledge in music is necessary — the course designed for teens and adults.
