Music & Technology

Students will explore creativity and composition via a Digital Audio Workshop using class laptops (just like modern producers) with an end goal of creating their original song to play for family and friends. Students will create their own music electronically. They will be able to use this recording technology to generate their own musical ideas. Because the DAW is accessible via nay web browser, students can continue to create outside of the classroom whenever they feel inspired. Our faculty will guide them through a specific structure so that each student will finish an original piece by the end of the year. Depending on the technology available, students will also be able to sing or rap over top of the beats they create and produce their own song.

“Foster [Elementary] is a Title I school… the majority of our students don’t have the tools or money, so [Villa Musica] is helping us level that playing field because our kids are getting access to the same things as the other kids in the neighborhood” – Principal Leah Saunders

Villa Musica currently provides Music & Technology programming to Foster Elementary and Nativity Prep Academy.
