Music Appreciation Club
Our Music Appreciation Club is a new class for adult music lovers who want to dive deeper into the art while learning tools for active listening and analysis. Each class will allow students to participate in moderated discussions about the music that they love, followed by a lecture and a presentation on a new topic to broaden their knowledge and stimulate the next discussion. Lectures will explore a variety of topics, including the basics of how we talk about music, the history of music, and the little details that make a performance special. Presentations will present new pieces that explore the concepts of the lectures so that students can spend a week listening for themselves before sharing with others!
Students will be expected to have the following:
30 minutes/week of dedicated listening time
Headphones/Earbuds and a device for music playback
An open mind and willingness to engage in discussions
All other course materials provided!
When: Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Class Dates: June 9th – July 14th (6 weeks)
Number of Participants: 15 maximum
Course Fee: $225
