In partnership with the UCSD Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Villa Musica presents Musical Biographies (TM). This program is designed to bring together people with Alzheimer’s disease, their care-givers and family in a unique multi-sensorial experience that centers around music and memory. “Musical Biographies (TM)” is a 6-week series of classes that provide small groups of older individuals living with Alzheimer’s (and their care givers) a platform for creating memory books inspired by a musical playlist. Participants will work with Villa Musica and UCSD staff, care givers and extended family members to identify music that inspires memory: memory of an important occasion, an event, an era and then design and decorate a personal biography that brings their musical choices to life.
When: Fall Session: Thursdays 10:00am – 12:00pm September 5 through October 10
Number of participants: min. 4 max. 8
