Description

Jie Zhou, born in Chengdu, China, began her musical journey at the age of four, quickly demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication. She has received notable recognition, including prizes at the 2019 Tennessee Music Teachers Association Piano Duo Competition and the 2021 Shanghai International Piano Competition. Jie graduated with honors from Sichuan Conservatory of Music Affiliated High School in 2019, where she was named the ‘Honor Student’

In addition to her performance achievements, Jie is a passionate educator dedicated to sharing her knowledge and inspiring her students. She has taught over 30 piano students and served as a piano teacher at the Youth Conservatory at Utah State University. Her teaching approach emphasizes enthusiasm, patience, and creativity, making learning enjoyable for her students. Additionally, she assisted in general music classes and took on the role of Undergraduate Teaching Fellow (UTF) in Keyboard Harmony, further enhancing her teaching experience.

Jie’s collaborative spirit extends to her performances alongside renowned artists. She has performed across America, Asia, and Europe, and notably served as the pianist for the Opera program at Weber State University.

Currently, Jie is pursuing her graduate studies in piano at San Diego State University while also working as a dedicated teaching associate, where she instructs group piano classes. Her commitment to both performance and education reflects her passion for music and her desire to make a positive impact in the lives of her students.
