In 2022, Villa Musica opened our fourth satellite site at the Linda Vista Library. In 1941, the U.S. government acquired a large portion of the land in Linda Vista to build military housing for the many soldiers who were stationed in San Diego during World War II. After the war, the military housing was converted into affordable housing for veterans and their families, and the neighborhood continued to grow and develop. In the 1960s and 1970s, Linda Vista became known as a hub for the city’s Asian American community, with many immigrants from Vietnam, China, and other countries settling in the area.
Today, Linda Vista is a vibrant and diverse neighborhood that is home to people from many different backgrounds. It is a bustling urban community with a rich cultural heritage and a strong sense of community pride.
Classes are designed in conference with library staff, participants, and their families to enhance this neighborhood’s passion for music.
