Clara Valenzuela – Electronic Music

Born and raised in San Diego, Clara first pursued her musical studies in Choral Music at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music. During her time at USC, Clara performed with the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Early Music Ensemble and studied as a choral conductor.

Upon graduating in 2020, Clara continued her academic pursuits at Cornell University, where she delved into the field of Music and Sound Studies. Her academic research focused on feminist, gender, and sexuality studies and their application to histories of popular music and media. 

At Cornell, Clara assisted with and instructed undergraduate courses covering a diverse range of musical topics, from Western art music to popular music and rock. After obtaining her Masters degree, Clara transitioned into the realm of K-8 music education. Currently, she is particularly interested in guiding students through the study, practice, and performance of electronic music.
