La Don L. Jones, Ph.D. is the Academic Director for the graduate program in health administration at National University. La Don has more than 30-years’ experience in the health care industry and his area of expertise is in strategy and organizational behavior and design. La Don earned his M.S.H.A. and Ph.D. in Administration Health Services at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He served as Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center; Vice President of Technology and Instructional Resources at Baptist College of Health Sciences; held a number of administrative positions at Baptist Memorial Healthcare in Memphis, TN; and served at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. In 2001-2002, La Don was a fellow in the American Council on Education Council of Fellows Executive Committee and the American Council on Education Council of Fellows Professional Development Committee.
Dr. Jones has presided over a number of community activities, serving as chair at the Memphis and Shelby County Workforce Investment Board, the Memphis and Shelby Crime Commission, Porter-Leath Children’s Center, and Leadership Memphis.
La Don supports Villa Musica because he believes that music can bring communities together and that music helps to support the development of the full human potential.
