Description
In partnership with the San Diego Symphony, participants in the Symphonic Discoveries workshop series gain an understanding of the cultural and historical context of symphonic music prior to attending a performance. Villa Musica teaching artists lead participants in this program through a varied curriculum discovering common forms and structures of music so that listeners can more easily follow along and understand the music at a concert. Our goal is to convert passive listeners into active listeners!
This 6-week workshop can run at any time throughout the year and is specifically designed around repertoire of specific symphony performance.
