Link Up at Longfellow K – 8 School

Link Up is a collaboration between Villa Musica teaching artists and the La Jolla Symphony Orchestra. For the 2022/23 academic year, our initial event “The Orchestra Moves” was an interactive concert where students from San Diego Unified (3rd – 4th grade) played their recorders, sang, and danced with a full symphony orchestra. Over 200 students from Carson, Carver, Chesterton, and Linda Vista Elementary schools participated in this exciting pilot year.

We’re excited for Longfellow to join our next round of Link Up!

Meet your instructor, Chiara…

Chiara Capobianco was born in Milano, Italy; she studied harp, flute and piano at Conservatorio “G. Verdi” of Milano. She is also a graduate in Musicology from the Scuola di Paleografia e Filologia Musicale di Cremona (Università degli Studi di Pavia-Italy).

Chiara’s primary instrument is the harp on which she has performed in the UK, throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America, and around the world through her work on luxury cruise ships. Chiara was a faculty member at Webster University at their Bangkok Campus in Thailand and taught music appreciation and pedagogy.

She is now based in La Jolla, CA and is thrilled to be a part of the Villa Musica family, where she teaches harp, piano, and our Link Up program.
